CBS - Cadas Business School

Introduction

Cadas Business School (CBS) first opened its doors to the public in 1986. It has since grown to become one of the most prominent institutions of higher learning in Sarawak.

Widely acknowledged for academic excellence, the institute has so far produced more than 10,000 graduates and numerous Prize Winners for outstanding results from world-renowned examination bodies, including :

• 23 Gold and Silver Medals (for Accounting Subjects) from the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry Examinations Board, UK (LCCIEB)
• Gerry Fowler Prize (for Cost & Management Accounting) from the Association of Business Executives, UK(ABE)
• Gold Medal (First-in-the world for Elementary Word Processing) from Pitman Qualifications, UK

CBS currently operates centres in both Kuching and Miri.

Diploma in Business Studies

The Diploma in Business Studies is designed to meet the needs of today’s job market. It incorporates industrial training, giving students the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience while still studying. Students can choose to major in either Accounting or Marketing.

Accounting Major

Duration : 1 year (2 semesters)

Accounting is a profession that is highly regarded throughout the world. Graduates usually have little difficulty in finding work, and can pursue rewarding careers in the finance sector.

Management or Marketing Major

Duration : 1 year (3 semesters)

Management and Marketing is becoming one of the most important occupational sectors in Malaysia. Graduates will be equipped with the skills to succeed in a variety of fields.

Diploma in Business Studies students will also have the option to sit for Diplomas awarded by the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry Examinations Board(LCCIEB). The LCCIEB is the No.1 provider of vocational qualifications for international business in the world today. The LCCIEB Diplomas are recognized by universities throughout the worlds as entry requirements into Year 1 of an Undergraduate Degree.

Full Time : Jan / Apr / Jun / Aug
Part-Time : Dec / Apr / Jun / Sept

Entry Requirements :

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age or
• with SPM or STPM qualification

Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Duration : 3 ~ 3 _ years

The world is speeding ahead into a high technological era. As a result, demand for electrical & electronic engineers & technicians are expected to increase significantly over the next few years.

The CBS Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) programmed is :

• Approved by the Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia
• Accredited by University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS)
• Conducted by qualified & experience lecturers
• Opportunities for graduates to enter engineering degree programmes at :

Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) & other local or oversea universities

Intake Dates : June / November

Entry Requirements :

Applicant must be at least 16 years of age and have attained :

• SPM with credits in English, Mathematics, Physics and Bahasa Malaysia; or
• Sijil Pelajaraan Vokasional Malaysia (SPMV); or
• Certification from Polytechnic or Institute Kemahiran Mara; or

Students with other qualifications will be considered on a case by case basis. Students without the relevant qualifications will have to enroll for the Bridging Course.

Bridging Course

Duration : 12 weeks
Subjects : Physic, Mathematics

Professional Accounting Courses

ACCA - Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)
Duration : 1 year (2 semesters)*

The CAT qualification is a vocational qualification introduced in recent years by the ACCA and is equivalent to the first year of a university degree programme. It is designed to equip students with the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to fulfill a supporting role in accountancy.

Intakes : January, March, April & September

Examination Periods : June and December

Flexibility : Full-Time & Part-Time

Entry Requirements : Aged 16 & above with 5 credits, including English and Mathematics in SPM, UEC, ‘O’ Level or equivalent
